Amy Hayden and her daughter usually woke up early every morning. One day, the mother-daughter duo was surprised to find a random dog, Walter, chilling on their patio furniture. Her daughter was the first to check on the dog, resting on their back porch.
At first, Hayden thought it must have been the neighbor’s dog since the couple had two dogs. However, when she looked at the beautiful dog, she was surprised that she had never met this one.
Even her daughter told Hayden it couldn’t be the neighbor’s dog. The adorable dog sat comfortably on the patio chair with cushions behind him. Even at this awkward moment, the dog was ensured to act like a pup.
In one of the interviews, the foster mom claimed, “It’s like he had taken up residence, right? Like he completely made himself at home, on the cushions, and never left.”
Hayden found that the dog would stay at their home all the time. So she reached out to her community to find his owner. She took him to a vet who told her that Walter was a 1–2-year-old Shepherd/Curr mix and weighed 61.1lbs.
He spoke to her neighbors, and no one ever claimed him. The vet could not find a chip, so there was no clue where he came from. After months of searching for Walker’s owners, Hayden knew she had to get a more permanent solution for him.
She wanted to adopt him, but unfortunately, he did not get along with their other pets. Finally, after a month of caring for Walter, Hayden found him a new home. Finally, a senior lady was ready to take care of him. The super sweet lady took him to his forever home.
