Max, the dog who waited for his family after the Ecuador earthquake, had a happy ending

On April 16, 2016 there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale, which shook Ecuador causing serious damage, mainly in the Pedernales and Cojimíes parishes of the Pedernales canton, in the Ecuadorian province of Manabi. The damage has been catastrophic, hundreds of people have died and many others are still missing. Solidarity has been present from various parts of the world to collaborate with this terrible tragedy.

The animals have also had to face the consequences of being alone and in danger. Hugo Cedeño shared on his Facebook profile a scene that managed to move thousands of people because it showed Max, a puppy who stayed for three days next to the rubble in what was once his home.

Max was waiting for his owner in the middle of that disaster and finally, four days later, the Animal Rescue and Recovery Unit (URRA) of the Guayas Prefecture reported that Max had been adopted.

Max did not move from there, he did not lose hope that his family would return…

So glad you found a new family! After so much suffering he will have the warmth of a home and the love of a family to overcome this bitter drink.

The family that adopted him are distant relatives of his former owners.

Max was transferred to a health facility to be given the necessary vitamins and the required medical care.

Fortunately, many animals have been rescued, some have lost their homes, their owners, many are injured and immersed in the pain of loneliness and an uncertain future, that’s why the authorities allocated two shelters for pets.

Max’s fate changed forever because he will receive all the support and affection he needs. He showed us that the love of dogs has no limits and despite any difficulty, they will always be there to wait for us, to protect us and remind us that their loyalty is unparalleled.

Share this beautiful story, it is a great lesson of love that invites us to continue fighting for the furry ones!
