The Juliana Wildlife Sanctuary is home to this charming and unique friendship. Puppy Shri Ram and cow Bernie met in their unhappy past, and now they have become each other.
The founder of the reserve Juliana Castaneda found 4 abandoned and lonely puppies in the forest and rescued them.
On the way to the United States, Juliana managed to find owners for these three of the four puppies. Now only Shri Ram was homeless.
The puppy was moved to a shelter where old dogs were kept, in the hope that he would befriend one of them, but instead he befriended a cow!
Bernie the cow was rescued from the slaughterhouse and brought to the temple and it was love at first sight for Shri Rama and Bernie.
The fact that they are both so young probably helped. One of them was about 5 months old and the other 3 months old. And they both needed love.
Now the two are inseparable. They do everything, eat and sleep together!
They have a huge difference in size, but they do not notice it. Chances are they both think they are dogs!
Shri Ram and Bernie are not just together, they spend time with older dogs and people.
