Thieves are attempting to steal horses for meat, not expecting to be foiled by two Rottweilers

Brenda, a Florida resident, awoke unexpectedly early on Sunday. She awoke to Rottweilers barking loudly and snarling angrily, and she immediately ran to the farmhouse where the noise was coming from.

When she learned that somebody had made a bold attempt to steal her horses, she was surprised. Brenda claims that they could have killed them for meat.

Brenda resides in Pasco County, on the outskirts of Zephyr Hills.

She thinks that the threats on her horses by 3 main killers were brought on by her solitude.

A small side door allowed the burglars access to the barn.

She noticed that the electricity had also been turned off in the secure when she ran to discover out why her Rottweilers were yapping.

The fact that one of her horses still had a strap fastened around its neck proved that the Rotties had disrupted the assailants’ work in progress.

She  continued to investigate the horses and discovered minor cuts and scuffs on them that suggested a fight.

There is no wonder that the outcome of this tale would have been far more saddening if it weren’t for the Rottweilers that were guarding the region.

The struggle also resulted in damage to Rottweilers. One of the animals was stabbed twice just above the left eye while battling invaders.

Sadly, horsemeat can be extremely costly on the black market, which the police claim is why the attacks are happening.

She was fortunate that her obedient Rottweilers thwarted the assailants, but some people were not so fortunate.

In several instances, people in nearby counties awoke to discover that their horses were gone or, worse yet, had been partly butchered.

The local Pasco County police are looking into the event, but regrettably they do not yet have enough proof to connect a string of horse killings.

They are warning all local horse owners to be vigilant in the interim.

Horse owners should consider ensuring that all access points to their property are secure, install bright lights with motion detectors, and pay attention to their pets, if there are any.

Thanks to Brenda’s marvelous Rottweilers, her horses are secure.
