The famous dog called “the ugliest in the world” dies suddenly on the eve of Christmas

Love for a dog is a boundless feeling, which turns into a bond of surrender and loyalty. When a pet dies, the pain that grips the home is reflected in the nostalgia and emptiness for its absence.

Bev Nicholson, 54, from Peterborough, had the sad experience of saying goodbye to Mugly, her 13-year-old puppy.

It was a Chinese crested stray dog considered by society to be unattractive due to some of its physical characteristics.

Mugly won several titles, including the ugliest dog in Britain in 2005.

Seven years later, in 2012 he won the title of “Ugliest Dog in the world”

But sadly, no less than on the eve of Christmas, this famous puppy suffered a stroke that left him unable to walk.

However, his fighting spirit impelled him to survive Christmas Eve before taking his last breath on December 27, in Bev’s arms.

After the stroke, his health deteriorated rapidly. But Bev remained hopeful that her beloved pet would stay with her for a while longer.

“I feel like I’ve lost a part of me. In the depths of my soul I always kept the hope that I would be much longer.”

Mugly’s departure to the other side of the rainbow bridge has left her heartbroken, she can’t imagine her life without him. It has not been easy for Bev to assimilate that her pet has left so suddenly.

He did not manage to prepare for such a farewell

“I can’t believe this is happening to me, that he’s really gone. I have five other dogs, but our home has never been so empty and silent,” the devastated woman said.

Mugly’s brothers have expressed the pain they feel for his absence. All dogs have adopted a passive and silent behavior, it’s like if it wasn’t them. Generally, they were playing and spent much of the day awake. Now they’re going to sleep. And it is that, they feel, suffer and, of course, suffer mourning for their deceased brother.

Actually, in Bev’s home there is a very strange and sad calm after Mugly’s death.

Mugly was adopted by Bev when he was eight weeks old. This puppy was abandoned three days after he was born because of his unfortunate appearance. However, that was not a limitation for Bev to welcome him home and give him all the love in the world.

In January last year Mugly began to walk with less agility. In June of the same year he was diagnosed with canine dementia.

Bev, far from abandoning her pet, organized a list of exciting activities for her to enjoy before she totally lost her memory.

Fortunately, Mugly fulfilled almost all his dreams before leaving this world.

Among these fascinating and fun activities were spa treatments, acupuncture, eating ice cream, visiting a fire truck and even sailing.

“Simply, she loved everyone and always knew how to behave according to the type of people she worked with, including children, the elderly and the disabled. Mugly knew what to do to make them feel happy and calm.”

Bev commented that her exceptional pet was a wonderful therapy dog due to his intuition and adorable nature.

She was like “a social butterfly.”

Bev expressed her gratitude for all the tributes received from the bereaved people around the world for her death.

“I am grateful for all the years of unconditional love and companionship he gave me and for having made me the proudest mother.»

Thousands of people adored Mugly and were very shocked by the news of his death.

Mugly was a very adorable dog that will always be present in the hearts of those who had the joy of knowing him. His passage through this world will not be forgotten. Fly high, beloved Mugly, where no one else will be able to call you ugly!
