One day when Gillian saw a dog looking at her in the dark, she knew she had to help her.
She said that as soon as the dog saw that she was approaching him, he ran away.
So she spoke softly to him, which made him stop and listen to her.
She added that the dog left and returned again the other day. Therefore, she kept a sufficient distance between them.
He also ran away when he was called, but this time not far. Gillian realized that the dog needed something, so she returned to the house and brought him dog food and a bowl of water.
She left them in a corner of her backyard and walked some distance to see what the dog would do. So the dog ate the food and still kept a distance between her and Gillian.
The next day, Gillian put down the food again when she saw him, but he stayed closer to the bowl, and instead of running away, he sniffed it.
Seeing this, Gillian realized that the dog needed a chance at love, so she decided to make her part of her family and named the dog Luna. What a happy ending!
