We’ve never seen a police force as adorable as the one the Dedham Police Dept in Dedham, Massachusets, has just recruited.
The school resources officers who strive to keep the Dedham educators and children safe have a new coworker—a cute little Golden Retriever puppy.

The dog’s official job title is “Local Nonprofit Dog,” and in photos shared by the Dedham Police Force, she appeared to be looking forward to her first day in her crucial new position.
The puppy was given the honor of being named by the kids at Dedham Middle School on her first day of work because she didn’t yet have a formal name.

Her new name was decided by a poll, and it was Ruby! A lovely name for a lovely girl.
Ruby is now working hard to develop into a valued asset for the department and the neighborhood.
The Dedham Police Department wrote on their Facebook page that Ruby will give them the tools they need.

In order to “de-escalate situations, engage with vulnerable and reclusive people in the community.
As well as communicate with citizens who are struggling with mental health or strain issues, comfy witnesses and victims of abuse, and encourage police-community interaction.”

This cute little girl has a lot of crucial work ahead of her, but we have no doubts about her ability to complete it.
Everyone in the neighborhood is thrilled about this charming new addition to the force since she has immediately won their hearts.
