Dog of the Day!
“This is Baby. We believe she was about 2 yrs old when she showed up in our field, hiding under an equipment trailer very pregnant. We brought her into our home, where a week later she had 8 puppies. We kept the puppies until they were 8 weeks old and then found homes for them.
When there was only one puppy left, Baby decided to dart out the door and take a stroll. We called her for hours – nothing, but around 2 am I heard a rustle in the bush by the window. It was her, and she had been hit by a car.
We called the Vet and he had us bring her right in (this was pre-ER Vets in our area), and he stitched up a huge gash on her leg. She was cut almost to the bone. She healed, her last puppy found a nice home, and she was with us until she died at 13 years old. She was a great dog. Happy, friendly, and gentle. Here she is with my Hubby in our field, enjoying some sun and cuddles.”
