When a doggie named Stevie was found in the yard of a house in South Carolina (USA), he had been dumped and discarded by his owners.
The small puppy was presumably chained in the yard for eight years.
As a result, he had no idea what love and devotion were.
He was taken in by a local rescue centre. Lucky boy!
However, the Diamonds of the Defenders in Ruff (New York) were instantly drawn to Stevie cos of his tragic background.
The unfortunate puppy had a number of health issues.
Stevie was entirely blind, and he was infested with fleas and maggots.
There were also issues with the intestines. As a result, a surgery was required.
But Stevie’s main issue was that he was terrified of the learning process and adjusting to foster homes.
«He slept much of the way home or continued to snarl and bark from the kennel.
We realized he was only trying to protect himself.»
