In the year 2000 Rennock joined Knightsbridge Barrack, where he was assigned to Agricola, a beautiful horse known for its strong character and difficult to handle.

However, it was not at all difficult for Rennock to create a bond with the horse, they both served in the Blues and Royal and made a great team.

For seven years this couple worked serving the Queen, Buckingham Palace and the rest of the Royal Family, so they were often part of prestigious events. In this regard, the man commented:

“Essentially, every time there’s a royal occasion, the Queen literally brings all the horses and all the King’s men.”

Rennock stopped participating in these events in 2007 when he decided to retire from the army, this forced him to say goodbye to his faithful horse, but he promised that one day they would meet again and he would adopt him.

The years passed and he continued to provide his service to the royals for another decade until it was time to retire.

When Rennock found out, he knew that it was time to reunite with his faithful companion, so he went to visit him at the stables in Knightsbridge. After the meeting, the man could not help but feel excited.

“It was a very emotional moment, he recognised me instantly, it sounds weird but it was like I never left,” Rennock said.

Since then, the ex-soldier knew that he had to fulfill his promise and adopt the horse. Although, it would not be easy at all because the equine would be auctioned and Rennock’s offer would not be as high as that of others, he decided to try by other means, he sent a letter explaining his situation and his great desire to adopt the horse that for years was his great companion.

Fortunately, he received an immediate response, everything was in his favor, he had been confirmed that he would be the new owner of Agrícola.

After years apart, this pair will be able to live the rest of their lives together. The equine received another name, now he is called Aggy, and he spends his days in a stable very close to Rennock in Preston. Through a publication the man wrote:

“This animal is a very special horse that has participated in some of the most prestigious occasions and state parades. He has been close to the royal family all his life, something that 99% of people could only dream of. He will live the remaining years being very happy, he has already retired and he has to rest. Thank you for serving the queen with class and distinction.”

It didn’t take long for his story to become known in the rest of the world, many Internet users have expressed their love and solidarity. In some of the comments it reads:

“A very special horse with a very special owner. Thank you for the service to our queen and country. Enjoy your retirement Aggy you deserve it! I am glad that both of you have met again.”

Another user commented:

“May you long continue to enjoy your well-deserved retirement with someone who appreciates the honest service you have provided over the years. I bless his heart and yours too, friend, for looking for him and bringing him home to spend the rest of his life with you.”

It is impossible to forget such a beautiful creature. We love knowing that this horse will spend his golden years getting all the love and attention he deserves.
