A dog can be a better mother than any human when it comes to offering love and protection, if it depends on saving the life of a vulnerable creature that did not even come out of her womb.
We often hear that sometimes little animals in danger are lucky enough to meet compassionate humans who do not hesitate to lend them a helping hand.
Although sadly, this is not always the case, and many other times, we humans are the ones who pass by without doing anything to save them.
But ironically, on the contrary, it has happened that when the little animals see a human in distress, without thinking twice, they come like a spring risking everything, as is the case of this homeless dog who saved a baby from dying in the cold.

It all started when a mother abandoned her baby in the courtyard of a house located in Lord Byron at kilometer 45 of national route 3, in Virrey del Pino, Buenos Aires.
The little dog named Puti had just given birth to her young, when she found the baby abandoned, helpless, and thrown to her fate, her mother’s heart did not allow her to remain indifferent.
So she carried him with her to a small seat that she used to keep her young sheltered. She took him in as if he were one of her puppies, because she knew he needed her, he was totally helpless.

Puti kept the baby named Santino snuggled up, under her like just another puppy, until the baby’s crying alerted the neighbors.
Doctors say that if it had not been for the little dog, the baby would not have withstood the low temperatures.
Puti had more maternal instinct with the baby than Santino’s own mother
The neighbors fed Santino and then took him to the Doctor José Equiz Maternal and Child Hospital. He was hospitalized for several days receiving medical attention, had only one month to live and suffered severe malnutrition.
The authorities managed to find the mother just two days later and she was arrested. At the moment, Santino and his siblings are in a maternal home.
The neighbors who found Santino knew the mother, because some time ago she had lived in the area and comment that she had already tried to abandon one of her children on another occasion.
Puti’s maternal instinct was even stronger and saved the baby’s life.
“It was the coldest night, being curled up under the dog saved the baby. She just needed to nurse him, she took him in as one more calf,” said the neighbor who heard the creature crying.

This story does not cease to move everyone. Despite the despair or problems that a mother may go through, she should not abandon a newborn to her fate.
There are a thousand ways to ask for help before throwing the creature out of its bowels as if it were something disposable.
On the other hand, it shows us how noble animals can become, they have a huge heart compared to many humans who only know how to do harm. If it hadn’t been for this madrassa!, the poor baby wouldn’t still be alive.
Thanks to her, the fate of the baby changed forever and she was able to have the opportunity to receive the help she needed.
