The owner of a dog with an intractable tumor is singled out for refusing to put her down
The loyalty of a puppy is something indisputable, any of these creatures is capable of giving his own life for that of his family. For that reason they feel a deep abandonment every time they leave him alone at home and when his owners finally arrive they react very effusively.
But when we love dogs, loyalty arises reciprocally and humans themselves are capable of doing anything for their pets. These are perhaps the stories of solidarity that we like the most and a dog named Serenity is experiencing the most beautiful gestures of love in her last days.
No one would want to have to say goodbye to their loved ones, but the new family of this 4-year-old Siberian husky regrets knowing that this moment could happen sooner than they had imagined.
Serenity is pretty sick.
The hairy girl has an invasive tumor on her face that is turning off her future little by little, although she refuses to abandon the joys of her present.
“She’s so sweet and has so much life inside of her,” said Serenity’s new foster mom, Patti Dawson.
His little eye is almost imperceptible due to the size of his tumor.
According to Dawson, president of Dallas Dog Rescue Rehab Reform, Serenity has an invasive tumor in her nasal cavity and that rose above her eye sockets and her own skull.
“He’s basically taken the bones out of her face,” the rescuer said.
The husky was adopted by Dawson, to prevent her from dying confined, alone and sad in a shelter in San Antonio, Texas, where she had been living for some time after being rescued from the streets.
Although the organization focuses on saving stray animals, Dawson could not remain indifferent when he learned the story of Serenity.
Who could refuse to give a better life to this tenderness?
As soon as Dawson adopted her, he decided to take her to an oncologist for evaluation, but the diagnosis was not encouraging at all: it’s already too late for an operation.
“We didn’t get the news we wanted, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop loving her and giving her the life she deserves,” Dawson said.
Serenity does not give up and continues to cling to life.
Despite the magnitude of the tumor, Serenity can still breathe, see and eat so the rescuer is willing to build the happiest days for the dog. To achieve this, Dawson decided to make her a rather adorable photo shoot that has gone viral.
The photographer of the Renee Dowhaniuk foundation, was in charge of portraying the sweet Serenity and her images have invaded the networks.
It seems that this hairy got along very well with the camera.
Many users were touched by the story of this little girl, although others criticized Dawson for not sacrificing her and stopping her ”agony”.
“She gets up, bends over with this huge tumor and hits me, like dogs, and kisses me on the face. In those moments, I know that we are going to fight to the death to do what we can to save her because she has life left,” said Dawson, who refuses to sacrifice her.
Although this terrible tumor has covered almost her entire face, this has not been an impediment for Serenity to be able to show her full personality and help inspire others online. Her photographs are invading every corner of the Internet, but few know the love that this girl still has to give.
The dog has already celebrated until her birthday next to her mommy.
We are glad to know that there are people by her side who are willing to accompany her to the end and who do not give up. Dawson is still waiting for another more hopeful diagnosis for the dog.
